Meeting new people regularly has to be one of the best but most daunting parts of my job. Working in the plus-size industry, this means they are often people I have followed on social media for a long time, people I have looked up to and admired from afar and found myself thinking “I wonder what they are like in ‘real-life’?”
These feelings were ever-present when I started chatting to the artist formerly known as Terrible Tumbles, now The Em Edit. Em is someone I had seen all over my Instagram feed for a long time and thought that working with her one day would simply remain a dream. I plucked up the courage one day to see if she would ever want to shoot together and to my utter shock, she said yes, and seemed actually excited at the prospect.
Fast forward a few weeks, and we meet up in Manchester at the stunning Velvet Hotel to shoot some sultry, boudoir-Esque, gorgeousness. I was so nervous, scared my inner fangirl would be on show, and that I wouldn’t be good enough. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Em was an utter delight to work with, funny, chilled and kind to boot, and the images are some of my favourites I’ve ever taken.
Check out more from Em over on her Instagram – she is a proper delight!
